Ellen Paisley

I live in Oakland, California. I have been practicing art for 40 years now. During that time I earned degrees from the California College of Art (and Crafts) and the School of the Art Institute at Chicago. My studio practice has taken a variety of forms including sculpture, painting, drawing and printmaking. I have exhibited art on the West Coast in galleries and colleges. I have also taught art to thousands of students over the last 30 years.

My art explores the themes of dysfunction and things that don't work. I have been fascinated by this for a long time. My latest works explore one sided love and tools that might help you gain your prize. This led to works about spying. I like my work to have a visceral quality that hopefully translates emotions and humor.
